Call from the team!

Monday, Jun. 30th 2008 1:38 PM

Hi,

Phonecall from the support team in Montana:

All of the team members are doing just fine, they`re all in good shape (no injuries), healthy, smiling, eating well and enjoy the adventure race! They made som really tough experiences in some parts of the race, pushing their personal limits to a new level… Yet they`re having a short break in a small village (to justify their “holiday”…).

Most reasonable, the mtn. trekking will pass on for 12 hours before turning CP 30/ Ennis Lake where the final mtn.biking will make it to the finish. The team is really thrilled about the great response from all of you! Big kisses to their wifes and families! Tomorrow, in the middle of the day(?), they hope they`ll see the finish line!

When will they cross the finish line?

Monday, Jun. 30th 2008 9:40 AM

The team is in the mnt. trekking, passing CP 29/ Spanish Creek at 6156ft. (1932 m.) They are behind team 47- “True Grit” and followed closely by team 19- “Hunky Dorys” from Ireland.  It`s likely to be a fight for the best non-american team! Hurry up!! Even so, they`re able to keep the top 10 ranking!… (and I`m sure it will be on the CV`s Wedensday…)

So, when do we hope to see them cross the finish line?

If holding the position and still going strong, a reasonable guess will be CP 30/ Ennis Lake within 6 hours, a short rest/nap and then the biking in about 5 hours. Hopefully, they`ll ll finish early Tuesday morning! (Norwegian time). But best advice: follow them closely all the way through, you never know!

Some update information about the ranking from HQ:

Due to time adjustments for credits earned or penalties incurred, the exact ranking of the teams has yet to be determined. The leaderboard does not take into account time credits, adjustments, or penalties at the finish line, but will be updated in a timely fashion to more accurately reflect the true position of a team. This does not effect Nike and Merrell, the two teams who have already claimed first and second place in the race. Those two teams have secured their positions and teams that follow them across the finish line will be adjusted to their proper ranking after assessing the penalties or awarding credits.

last trekking

Monday, Jun. 30th 2008 7:34 AM

Our heroes started their last trekking almost 2 hours ago. Probably about 15 hours trekking before they finish the race with a bike section. They are doing great!!

We know yuor goal was to finish the whole race. That is fantastic, it is a extremly challenging race!!  ..and even more fantastic that you seem to get a god rank as well :)

Looking forward to see you cross the finish line… Go go!!

Call to the support team- Chris!

Sunday, Jun. 29th 2008 2:46 PM

Hi Chris,

Can you please give us some update information about the position of the team, we do think it might be some registration or technical problems at CP26, 27 and 28. The leaderboard shows they`re in 6th position. Will you please confirm this as soon as possible?

Heading for the top 10?

Saturday, Jun. 28th 2008 5:43 PM

As in the middle of the mtn.trekking, between CP 21 and CP 22, from 8894 ft. to 4932 ft., the team is in 13th position, smoothly closing up the gap to the teams in 12- 9th place just ahead!

We hope you`ll manage, stay strong and enjoy this amazing adventure race as it gets to the final part!
